Fidelity Enhances Its Retail Brokerage Platform With New Trading And Research Tools For Stock Traders

Active Trader Pro® 8.0, Wealth-Lab Pro® 5.1 and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Research Tools Help Investors Make Better Informed Buy and Sell Decisions

BOSTON, June 30, 2008 - Fidelity Investments today announced three enhancements to its retail brokerage platform that will provide traders with new options for monitoring financial markets, executing trades and researching investment options.

The new trading and monitoring features are now available in the new version of Fidelity's leading trading platform, Active Trader Pro 8.0, and in Fidelity's upcoming update of its advanced backtesting tool, Wealth-Lab Pro 5.1. The environmental, social and governance (ESG) research, independently provided by KLD Research & Analytics, Inc. and Audit Integrity, Inc., is available in Fidelity's best-of-class research platform.

"Traders look for an edge in volatile markets, which lately have been news-driven," said James C. Burton, senior vice president, Fidelity Personal and Workplace Investing. "The enhancements we're announcing to our trading and research platforms deliver on our commitment to provide our brokerage customers with institutional-grade tools to help them become better investors and traders."

Active Trader Pro 8.0

A recent Fidelity study found that 92 percent of investors making 36 or more trades a year report they "constantly monitor" their investments1. To meet the needs of these investors, Active Trader Pro 8.0, available to customers making 36 or more trades per year, now delivers enhanced tools for better monitoring of current or potential investments. It also offers new choices to view the application across single or multiple monitors, and new trading tools to help investors protect their investments.

New features in Active Trader Pro 8.0 include:
Streaming News - advanced news tool offers streaming headlines2 from top providers such as Dow Jones, Reuters and MarketWatch, along with pre-built and custom searches, tabbed navigation, news pop-up alerts and much more.
Floating Windows - allows customers to float component windows outside of the application container allowing for easy use across multiple monitors and a more streamlined experience on a single monitor.
Advanced Trading - allows for separate stop and limit prices when placing equity stop limit orders, and introduces a new multi-contingent conditional order with multiple triggers.
Market Breadth Data - offers a watchlist of market breadth data (advance/decline; new highs/new lows) on the three major markets (NYSE, NASDAQ, AMEX).
Options Analytics - integrates advanced options data into the Active Trader Pro platform.

Wealth-Lab Pro 5.1

Wealth-Lab Pro, Fidelity's backtesting tool for active traders making 120 or more trades per year, delivers improved workflow, ease-of-use and customization. Version 5.1 enhances the flexibility of trading within the Wealth-Lab Pro environment:
New to Wealth-Lab Pro is the ability to trade directly from a trade alert, which eliminates the extra step of going to the Orders tool.
Also new is the omnipresent manual trade ticket window on the upper menu that enables in-the-moment trading without needing to leave the present window and go to the Orders tool.
If an investor does not want to take immediate action on a trade alert, he or she can stage trades in the Orders tool for later consideration and submission.

In addition, Wealth-Lab Pro 5.1 integrates cancel and replace trade orders, which helps streamline the workflow and allows for faster execution of trades.

Active traders who build their own trading strategies with the drag and drop Strategy Builder in Wealth-Lab Pro now have the ability to incorporate the popular parameter sliders within their strategies. This allows for easy customization of parameters once a trading strategy is up and running.

Enhanced Research Capabilities

Fidelity customers will have the ability to screen stocks using Environmental, Social and Governance ratings provided by KLD Research & Analytics, Inc. and Audit Integrity, Inc., two independent investment research firms. Customers can apply four new ESG criteria to their advanced stock screens:
KLD Research ESG Composite Rating - learn how KLD rates how a company is generally managing environmental, social and governance matters through color-coded ratings of yellow for "adequately managing," green for "more effectively managing," and red for "not effectively managing."
KLD Vice Alert - learn if a company is deriving at least 15 percent of its revenue from manufacturing, distributing or selling products that some consider to be controversial. Companies are given a rating of "Involved" or "Not Involved."
Audit Integrity Accounting and Governance Risk (AGR®) Score - uncovers high-risk accounting and governance activity in more than 8,000 companies, which has been statistically correlated to major negative events. Scores range from 0 to 100, which correspond to a risk classification for each company ranging from "Very Aggressive" to "Conservative."
Audit Integrity AGR® Equity Risk Factor - a metric developed by Audit Integrity to correlate a firm's AGR Score with the general expected return of a firm's stock price. The AGR Equity Risk Factor ranks companies from 1 to 5, where 1 indicates companies with the lowest expected annual return and 5 indicates those with the highest expected annual return.

In addition, Fidelity customers will have access to Audit Integrity's Accounting and Governance Risk Overview, a two- to three-page report that provides more detail about the AGR score, including a three-year historical look.

"We find that approximately 70 percent of active investors conduct their trading research on their brokerage firm's web site," said Burton. "And we're pleased to give our customers free access to innovative research on environmental, social and governance topics that have, until now, been unavailable to retail investors."
