Fidelity Investments Integrates Technical And Fundamental Analysis In Wealth-Lab Pro For Active Traders

First Brokerage Firm to Combine Back-Testing Platform with Company Data

BOSTON, December 12, 2005 - Increasing its focus on active traders, Fidelity Investments today announced significant enhancements to Wealth-Lab ProTM, its strategic trading technology available at no extra charge to Fidelity active trader1 customers who place more than 120 trades over a rolling 12-month period.

Wealth-Lab Pro enhancements include industry-leading integration of fundamental data, a new "Getting Started" homepage and an improved, user-friendly design. These complement Wealth-Lab Pro's unique portfolio-level simulation and drag-and-drop programming functionality to quickly and easily create, back-test and execute customized trading strategies.

"This important functionality helps active traders develop strategies that are easier to identify, manage and back-test," said Jeffrey R. Carney, president, Fidelity Personal Investments, the retail brokerage unit of Fidelity Brokerage Company. "The addition of fundamental analysis gives our active trader customers a completely unique and strategic trading tool, traditionally available only to professionals."

Fundamental Analysis

Wealth-Lab Pro now provides active traders with six years of integrated fundamental balance sheet, income statement and calculated ratio data as reported quarterly by companies. Fundamental data includes assets, earnings, sales, employees and liabilities among other factors. Calculated ratio data includes return on assets, trailing price earnings ratios, price/cash flow ratios, price/sales ratios, return on equity, dividend yield ratio, sales per share ratio, among others. This fundamental company data is now integrated with technical trading data available from Fidelity at no cost which includes 10 years of daily historical trading data for individual securities and 18 months of intra-day minute bars.

Improved, User-Friendly Design

Additionally, Fidelity has enhanced Wealth-Lab Pro with a new "Getting Started" home page that clearly outlines five steps customers can take to more easily develop, back-test and trade based on trading systems. With each step, links take customers directly to tools that help accomplish specific tasks and include right-click "help" capability with easy-to-follow definitions and instructions. The five steps include:
Manage Data - identify stocks that meet a certain criteria and build stock lists either from established Watch Lists, from a filter, or by sector or industry;
Build and Explore - create trading systems by using drag-and-drop "wizards," selecting from 1,000 pre-built trading systems, or writing original systems with the Wealth-Lab Pro programming language;
Back-Test and Analyze - use a simulator tool to back-test trading systems with portfolio-level analysis and money management rules;
Scan the Market - use end-of-day or intraday data to identify trading opportunities; and
Manage Trades - implement trading opportunities and review, manage and execute trades.

The redesigned home page also includes "Recently Viewed ChartScripts" and "Tips" for navigating Wealth-Lab Pro's comprehensive suite of resources.

The new Wealth-Lab Pro enhancements strengthen Fidelity's comprehensive active trader offering, which includes $8 flat commissions2 and a dedicated team of experienced trading representatives. Active Trader Pro®3, Fidelity's active trader platform combines advanced trading with sophisticated portfolio management and exclusive decision making tools. Features include directed trading4, streaming market data and depth-of-book level II quotes, advanced technical filters and real-time and historical time and sales. Sophisticated trading functionality includes online options capabilities and automated order types - contingent orders, one cancels the other, one triggers the other and trailing stops.
